El pasado jueves 2 de octubre se estrenó en la Cineteca Nacional el filme del director Andrzej Wajda, del líder polaco del Sindicato “Solidaridad”, exponiendo en pantalla grande su esfera privada y la increíble metamorfosis de un trabajador que se convierte en un líder carismático, convirtiendo a Lech Walesa, una esperanza para un pueblo, como el héroe contemporáneo.
La vida de Lech Wałęsa, basada en el líder polaco del Sindicato “Solidaridad”, llega a la pantalla grande revelando su esfera privada y la increíble metamorfosis de un trabajador que se convierte en un líder carismático. Walesa, Lech Walesa (Robert Więckiewicz) se convierte en la esperanza de un pueblo a través de la historia de un héroe contemporáneo. La película inicia con la periodista Oriana Fallaci (María Rosaria Omaggio), quien entrevista al futuro ganador del Premio Nobel.
La tensa conversación que tiene con ella, clasificada como una de las periodistas más famosas del mundo, constituye el tejido narrativo de la película. Fallaci plantea preguntas que nadie más quería o se atrevía a preguntar al legendario líder del movimiento "Solidaridad"; al formularlas se da a conocer la verdad de un hombre dotado de carisma y asombrosa intuición política. La historia de Walesa no sólo tiene una dimensión psicológica o regional; con el tiempo, se integra en el contexto de la política internacional.
La vida de un simple electricista, que en un primer momento lucha por los derechos de sus compañeros de trabajo, comienza a hacer eco en millones de polacos que hicieron noticia en la década de los ochenta y que condujeron al colapso del régimen de países pertenecientes a la Cortina de Hierro. La historia describe la existencia del ganador del Premio Nobel de la Paz y fundador del movimiento Solidaridad de Polonia: Lech Walesa, narrando los acontecimientos ocurridos en la década de 1970, asì como la guerra pacifica que provocó en aquellos años. La conferencia ofrecida a los medios informativos realizada en las instalaciones del Instituto Mexicano de Cinematografía (IMCINE), estuvo presidida por Lorenza Manrique (Directora de Apoyo a la Producción de IMCINE), Nicolás Celis (productor), nuestra admirada actriz Arcelia Ramírez y el francés Jean-Christopher Berjon, asesor artístico del festival; quienes expusieron datos referentes al Segundo 
Festival de Cine México- Francia, señalando que “Viva México”, se realizará del 7 al 14 de octubre del 2014, en la ciudad de Francia, iniciando un segundo reencuentro cinematográfico, y asumiendo nuevos retos en virtud que su programación resalta una mayor accesibilidad hacia distintos públicos, aprovechando la magnífica infraestructura de Cinèma Etoile Lilas; será durante esta celebración donde todos los espectadores podrán participar viendo y escuchando dos conferencias de cintas mexicanas dedicadas prioritariamente para aquellos con especial sensibilidad para el cine; serán proyectados dos destacados acontecimientos mexicanas disfrutados en Francia por los asistentes a este soberbio Reencuentro Cinematográfico: “Homenaje a María Félix”, El jueves 9 de octubre a las 19:30 horas; y “El Hombre detrás de la máscara”, el 12 de octubre, a las 19:30 horas, con la asistencia de El Hijo del Santo; quien será el comentarista en todo lo referente a su padre Rodolfo Guzmán, conocido popularmente como “Santo, el enmascarado de Plata”. VIDEOTECA DIGITAL “CARLOS MONSIVAIAS”
La Cineteca Nacional inauguró la última semana de septiembre la Videoteca Digital “Carlos Monsiváis”, en honor al desparecido escritor mexicano, con acceso al público en general, los asistentes podrán explorar 5000 títulos de cine nacional e internacional, provenientes del acervo de la Cineteca Nacional; asimismo más de 2000 películas en formato DVD adquiridas por el fallecido escritor, el sitio se ubica en la Cineteca Nacional a un costado de la Sala 3, ofreciendo gratuitamente servicios para la consulta y la investigación de materiales video gráficos. Los interesados en aprovechar esta oportunidad, deberán acudir al área de registro ubicada en este mismo espacio, para tramitar una cuenta de usuario y acceder así a alguna de las 21 cabinas o terminales.
Los servicios no tienen ningún costo y se ofrecerán en un horario de lunes a viernes de 9:00 a 18:00 horas. La Cineteca anuncia que las películas estarán disponibles únicamente para ser vistas en el edificio, asimismo subrayar que es importante aclarar que el acervo de la Cineteca es considerado patrimonio cultural cinematográfico nacional. En ese sentido, la Videoteca Digital “Carlos Monsiváis” sólo atenderá las solicitudes con fines de educación e investigación, en igualdad de circunstancias, tomando en cuenta las mejores prácticas y lineamientos de preservación de los objetos fílmicos, video gráfico y otros relacionados.
