La mano del crimen atacó de nuevo al gremio periodÃstico del estado de Veracruz cuando el miércoles 13 de junio fue levantado en Xalapa el periodista VÃctor Manuel Báez Chino, quien aparentemente fue torturado para luego ser ejecutado. El cuerpo del comunicador fue encontrado al dÃa siguiente en la calle Úrsulo Galván, de la capital veracruzana.
Apenas seis dÃas antes, la delegación Veracruz del Club de Periodistas de México, habÃa entregado a Báez Chino el Premio Estatal de Periodismo por sus brillantes trabajos publicados en Milenio Veracruz.
Socios, directivos, delegados nacionales e internacionales de nuestro Club y su brazo asistencial, la Fundación Antonio Sáenz de Miera Fieytal I.A.P: expresamos nuestra más enérgica condena por este terrible asesinato que enluta a una familia, a un estado y al gremio periodÃstico nacional.
La manera por demás dolosa con la que se perpetró este terrible homicidio debe ser castigada con todos los instrumentos que la Ley nos provee, motivo por el cual exigimos el inmediato esclarecimiento del hecho y castigo para los responsables de este terrible crimen.
Nos unimos al dolor de familiares y amigos, que también nos embarga a nosotros, en tanto que a las autoridades del estado de Veracruz reiteramos nuestra sed de justicia y nuestro deseo de que la impunidad deje de imperar en este tipo de hechos que manchan de sangre la noble profesión de comunicar.
