LI Certamen Nacional e Internacional de Periodismo Libertad de expresión: La más preciada de las libertades Mouris Salloum George AÑO 2021. A 75 años de la primera entrega de los Premios Nacionales e Internacionales de Periodismo y asÃ, en su sede permanente, en Filomeno Mata número 8, Centro Histórico de la Ciudad de México. Espacio para la libertad de expresión, un edificio que tiene impregnado el espÃritu periodÃstico y generoso de su fundador, Don Antonio Sáenz de Miera, donde sobre sus muros está escrito indeleblemente que el ejercicio del periodismo responsable, lúcido, independiente y libre. Aún en medio de asesinatos, secuestros, chantajes y amenazas de los poderosos en contra de quienes informamos a la opinión pública sobre el curso de la vida nacional; un ejercicio que demanda convicciones, pasión profesional y análisis crÃtico. Quienes ayer fueron distinguidos con nuestra máxima presea, dan muestra de todo ello. Esta es la casa del periodismo independiente, donde celebramos a los galardonados con la alta distinción que otorga nuestro Club de Periodistas, “premios nacionales e internacionalesâ€, a quienes destacaron por su trabajo en el año previo. Recordamos y homenajeamos a los compañeros caÃdos en la defensa de la verdad y por las mejores causas del paÃs. Le rendimos culto a las ideas, a esos duendes de las redacciones que han inundado las páginas patrias de valor, dignidad y esperanza. Reconocimiento a Julian Assange También reconocemos a quienes los medios corporativos les han negado el honroso tÃtulo de “periodistaâ€, a quienes nos han dado información que ha cambiado el modo de hacer polÃtica nacional, pero también a nivel mundial, como a Julian Assange, a quien hoy le han impuesto la pena de cárcel, e incluso amenazas de ejecución tras la extradición. Honrar a Assange nos encumbra a todos; lo hacemos porque el tributo al periodismo libre es un reconocimiento al patriotismo, al nacionalismo y a la democracia de cualquier paÃs. Se es patriota cuando se desempeña el enorme oficio de informar con objetividad y sin interés, pensando en la integridad de las causas que dieron origen a la más preciada de las libertades ilustradas: la libertad de expresión. El periodista conjuga siempre todas las caracterÃsticas del ser humano atemporal, de carne y hueso, que aspira a la mejor distribución de la riqueza y a la impartición expedita de la justicia. La historia de México está llena de ejemplos heroicos de periodistas comprometidos con su pueblo. Nuestra historia merece destacar los ejemplos de escritores, poetas, reporteros, camarógrafos y fotógrafos, quienes han regado con su sangre esta tierra de mujeres y hombres cabales. Por eso es que rechazamos a aquellos que han manchado nuestra profesión, haciéndose cómplices del soborno mezquino y artero. Nada justifica que alguien, a nombre de tan noble profesión, destruya voluntariamente el legado del periodismo independiente y combativo. Desde Filomeno Mata 8, alzamos la voz: ¡Que viva el Club de Periodistas de México! ¡Viva México! |
